Calligraphy Red Glass Murrine Bowls

These handmade red fused glass oval bowls combine opalescent red and clear glass with a distinctive calligraphy-inspired murrine design.

Individual pieces of hand-pulled and cut vitrigraph murrine are carefully arranged before being kiln-fused into a sculptural glass bowl. The finished piece is sandblasted to create a soft matte surface with a tactile quality, while the handmade construction produces subtle variations in the pattern.

Dimensions

1. Medium Oval – 12cm wide x 5cm deep x 5cm high
2. Large Oval – 19cm wide x 7cm deep x 7cm high

Available in a choice of sizes, each bowl is handmade in my North Yorkshire studio using Bullseye Glass.
